We went to the GP today and as suspected, Henry's weight is still too low (he's dropped from the 50th percentile at birth to the 5th percentile now), so she gave us a referral to the paediatrician (in Australia you have to have a referral from a GP in order to see a specialist doctor like a paediatrician, also that is how they spell pediatrician here!).
Well, the paediatrician is all booked up until the end of October, which is TWO months away and Henry will be nearly a year old! Unfortunately, there is nothing we can really do but wait. The GP said that it probably isn't anything too serious because he's a happy baby and developing right on track. He has jumped back and forth between the 15th and 30th percentile over the months, rather than have a clear dropping of percentiles, so he's probably just meant to be a bit smaller. Mark's mum said that he was a late bloomer, so we're thinking this is a genetic thing. The GP was really doubtful about him having coeliac because he simply hasn't been exposed to enough gluten yet.
The bottom line is that Henry is probably just fine and we will find out for sure in 2 months when he sees the pedi!
